Coffee, Cake, Debate – Repetition, Repetition, Repetition
‘Everything is a copy of a copy of a copy.’
The Narrator, Fight Club
‘Say something once, why say it again?’
Talking Heads, Psycho Killer
For the tenth Coffee, Cake, Debate we will be discussing repetition. Prepare to enter a world where rhetoric, doppelgangers, infinity, music, language and emphasis come together in a dazzling and head-scratching array.
Do ideas lose their meaning or value by being repeated?
What happens when you say a word 100 times in a row?
Does history repeat itself?
There’s only one way to find out. Join Home For Waifs And Strays for the most challenging and exciting coffee, cake, debate yet. Now rinse and repeat!
For this one we will be in Unit 9 at Minerva Works, our home for July (so exciting!) so the debating may get more physical and all the drinks and cake are free!
We will be there from 5pm and estimate a finish time of 8pm but guess what! It’s our space this time so if we want to keep going, we can!
