Open Call: Backbone

Home for Waifs and Strays present a funded platform called
Backbone
“If people are going to be allowed to say “we love you” and “I love you”, they’d better have the backbone to prove it. Love isn’t just a word.”
Home for Waifs and Strays present an open call, but not just any open call.
We are looking for applications for works of art that fit with the theme of giving back.
Throughout our lives we have people and things that we care for, appreciate and respect. We are looking for work that embraces this. When we make work we often look at ourselves and for the feelings that we hold. This open call is for the opposite.
We are looking for, primarily performance, work that is for someone else. Whether they are made aware of the performance or you are simply creating something that is in memory of someone/thing, we want you to propose it to us.
The work is not for you. It is not about you. It’s about creating something for someone else.
All forms of art accepted. Performance, video, sound, installation etc. We are looking primarily for performance and live art pieces.
