Homegrown is a testing ground for new ideas, a four month long artist development programme for West Midland artists working with experimental performance.
There will be 4 talks by experts in the field of Producing Live Art, Making Art, Documenting Live Art & Funding. This is the first:
Producing by Aaron Wright
Aaron Wright is a curator and producer of Live Art. in 2016 he became the new Artistic Director of Fierce Festival in Birmingham. Prior to this he worked at the Live Art Development Agency (LADA) as their Programmes Manager. At LADA he co-curated international programmes of Live Art and produced LADA’s artist development schemes. Aaron has also worked as a guest curator and consultant programmer for the National Theatre, The Arches, Glasgow, and Cambridge Junction, as well as co-producing club night Knickerbocker at The Yard Theatre. Aaron also works as producer for the performance artist The Famous Lauren Barri Holstein and is a member of the Steakhouse Live collective. He holds an MA and a BA from the University of Birmingham and is a trustee of Birmingham Contemporary Music Group.
