SELF/s PORTRAIT is coming to Birmingham on the 15th October!

Home For Waifs And Strays are proud to present ‘SELF/s PORTRAIT’ by Thomas John Bacon. SELF/s PORTRAIT is a large scale participatory performance event that explores the merging of the body as both a subject and object through a simple action.
Thomas John Bacon is an artist whose work focuses upon the conception of the body, Being & the idea of a multiplicity of Self/s, both embodied & disembodied, in performance. Thomas looks to explore how Being in performance may be challenged; embracing the potential for risk of failure and in doing so, openly expanding the perception of multiples of Self/s.
Come and join us in the grounds of Birmingham Cathedral on Colmore Row and share in the experience of this live art event.
We are very excited about bringing this work to birmingham! Get the date in your diaries, October 15th! The performance will take place between 1pm and 2pm and is free to attend.
Co-director Kate Spence interviewed Thomas about the work and he was very interesting and informative. The video can be viewed in an older post and also on Thomas’s website here.
