After our launch we were approached by an awfully affable young artist called John Kadens who expressed an interest in working with us. We arranged a meeting to discuss ideas, his intentions and to see his portfolio. It turned out that he is simply fantastic! Full of a ideas, never stopping and taking a very proactive approach to his work, we have developed a new art crush! John will be in residence with us from the 1st September until the 31st October and during this time there will be experiments, interventions, a performance lecture and a culminating show. He is a total breath of fresh air. Find out more about him on our new resident artist page.
We also have a venue and date set for our work with artist Thomas John Bacon. It will be on the 15th October in the grounds of Birmingham Cathedral. We are hugely excited to be working with Thomas and simply overjoyed to be able to present our dissemination of his work ‘Self/s Portrait’ in such an iconic and well loved Birmingham space. We are looking for a large number of participants for this work. If you would like to participate as a performer in this large scale outdoor performance then check our events and opportunities page for details on how to apply. There will be a workshop for all participants before the performance. This will be a very unique experience for all performers. Don’t miss out!
Also we will be having Coffee, Cake Debate – 2 on the 2nd September, this is open to all, and The Forest Beast workshop from the 6th to the 8th September which has limited spaces and does require an application. More details on both on our events page.
